How to Measure for a Dress

For the perfect fit, take four quick measurements with a soft tape measure and match them against the size chart below.

Tip: measure your child in light underwear, without outerwear. The tape should sit snugly against the body without pulling tight. If a measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Four Measurements

Follow them in order — it takes under two minutes.

1

Chest

Wrap the tape horizontally around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms.

2

Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of the tummy, roughly at belly-button level.

3

Hips

Wrap the tape around the widest part of the hips and bottom.

4

Sleeve Length

From the shoulder seam down to the desired sleeve length — usually to the wrist.

A Few More Tips

To make sure you get the size just right.

📏 Measurements over height

Kids grow unevenly, so rely mainly on chest, waist, and hip measurements rather than age or height alone.

🧵 Between sizes

If measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger one — especially for fitted-cut dresses.
